JaiKai Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 The breaker I bought a few months back left my drive today destined for the crusher. It was a silver 89 NA, at least it's heart will live on with whatever zed it gets transplanted into ! Quote
JaiKai Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Yeh, had them up for sale, but no takers in over a month. Nice wheels! :( Quote
groover Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Thats a shame Lee, with so many usable parts still on it, like doors etc Quote
Steams Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Hated seeing my old zed on a low loader when it went to be scrapped :( Quote
Stephen Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Tbh I don't understand how you guys brake them and make anything. They must arrive dirt cheap. The reason I say that is I've watched a few members brake and even after months you still have 80% of the car left because either no one wants the parts or wants to pay tuppence. Still I recon every time one gets scrapped mine goes up in value by a quid. Quote
RichardS Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Sad to see - but at least some of it has helped to keep finer examples on the road.... .....And as Steve says, once those cars that are only good for fodder have gone, the good ones will hopefully be worth more.... He says, not holding breath for too long.... Richard:sad: Quote I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
JaiKai Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Unfortunately rust has overtaken the best bits and I've salvaged as much as I could. The doors were warped and wouldn't close properly and many of the panels had clear sign of massive repairs which in my eyes weren't done properly as rust patches were bubbling through the paint work again.
